When I first moved to the city, I instantly fell in love with the architecture the urban sprawl had to offer. A personal favorite has continued to be the skyscrapers. The downfall of my adoration is the fact that I get dizzy when trying to look up at them.
I came up with an idea eight years ago to start a project called “The Sky’s the Limit”. It entailed photographing the buildings from the perspective of looking up. Seeing things from a different point of view is part of what being a photographer is all about. Learning to perceive things around you differently can be like going through therapy—only cheaper. Very often nothing is as it seems…and then sometimes what you see is what you get.
I wandered around the city in search of gorgeous, towering structures. There are so many; my heart skips a beat at the idea of making my way around to them all. I hope you enjoy the images I’ve brought back to you this week.
