Last Sunday I wandered down to the lakefront to photograph the water in it’s frozen form. I knew as soon as I stepped out of the car that I should’ve dressed in warmer layers. The beaches and walkways along Lake Michigan can vary 5-10 degrees depending on the season. I found out later the temperature while I was out shooting was around -10 with the wind chill. It was a beautiful day otherwise, but I decided to call it quits when I couldn’t feel my fingers any longer.
I think my photos reflect the bite of the wind and the freezing fog that surrounded me. They also portray the feeling of isolation on a day so cold. I hope you enjoy them. Stay warm.
The beauty of solitude.
Makes me glad we are having a mild winter…so far. I like the one with the steps/the metal railing and the geometric thing going on. Where will you wander next time? Hmmmmmmmmm. 🙂
I love to take and view photos that seduce a feeling, or a smell, an expression, Etc…Totally felt the brisk air,but the nothingness….Abandonment. That is what I saw and felt. The first on was my fav.
Ounce again you have put out some very nice pics. . I REALLY LIKE THE THE ONE WITH THE STEPS.
